It can be fun going to the antique shops . Just be sure to wheel and deal most proof sets should be around $10 or less like I find for $5 unless it is something rare. PCGS has a price chart for proof sets online. NGC does not.

Ok JP, I went back and bought five sets

1961 sealed set brown env (should I open it?)

1969 mint set PD unopened?

1970 mint set P/D

1971 S proof cameo set

1973 S proof cameo set with Ike

funny thing, along with 30% off they said no sales tax because it’s money?

so saved 37 1/2%

let me know if you think I should open the 1961 and 1969

Thank you

Bill

The 1964 half shown in the first post is not a proof.

I agree RWB, just because it stated 1964 proof on the flip doesn’t mean it is. It was from a knowledgeable collector but it seems there are bag marks on the reverse. I was skeptical from the getgo on that one. It had no mirror like finish. Still a nice 64 and 90% silver. Here is one like it listed on EBay as a proof as well.

thank you.

Looks like you're doing pretty well, Bill.  Very nice! I'm so pleased I could help you make some additions as well!! Your additions allowed me to make a couple of additions myself....a couple of 1971 and 1972 Canadian Uncirculated Sets with some cameo coins for the Canadian P/L/Unc Set Cameo Hoard that I have.  Thank you again!!!
