Hey Bill.  I know ya didn't coin roll find this nice One Pound but it has been ridiculous at the number of 1 Cent pieces I have recently been finding CRH'ing lately.  And some rather older ones at that.  They aren't in the best of shape except for a few of them.  I found two 1963 reverse oddities (can't remember the exact term for them, something like a hanging 3 in the date????) both in the same roll.  I thought they were pretty cool so I hung onto them.  Nice pick up there on your coin!

Love the round pound, but the IoM did it first.  I don't think the UK got on board until '83 or '84..

Thank you! It’s kinda small I could see folks getting confused with it. About the size of a nickel but thicker. I expected it to be larger in diameter, but it is a very good quality coin.

Yeah, the IoM pound was not popular when it first came out in the late 70's. The UK replaced the pound note with the one pound coin in "83-'84 and the IoM withdrew their original spec'd pound coin and replaced it with one that match the UK specifications.

I have a bunch of oddball coins from all over the place but my pound is not as old or as nice as yours Bill .The Queen got a lot older in one year and my plant looks' dead
