1982 small date 0

I was wondering if this is the proper print for a 1982-D small print penny, I don't have a scale yet but just wanted to see if this is the correct form.

It looks bubbly and suspiciously zinc like. You have to find the scale. I’ve also seen people make a crude balancing scale with an ice cream stick or the like. Balance it on center and put either a known copper cent on one side and the suspect on the other and see if they balance, or a zinc cent and the same. Not exactly foolproof but in the absence of a scale might give you an early read.

Looks like a zincoin. You can see some plating bubbling around the mint mark and other areas.

Also the fields look too rough for a copper cent

I'm pretty sure it is zinc, I'm just looking on starting a small little coin collection

In looking at your cent, it's definitely a 1982-D Small Date and it looks very zinc-y to me as well.
