Can a coin be conserved and reholdered?

4 posts in this topic

First off, does NGC offer reholdering of coins?

If so, can an NGC coin in a holder be sent in for conservation to NCS and reholdered into a holder with the same grade, or would the coin need to be conserved and regraded?

First question: Yes! It's cheap too.

2nd question: Yes! You can have NCS conserve a coin, and opt for a grade guarantee. As long as they feel they can conserve the coin without affecting the assigned grade, the coin can be conserved and then reholdered at the same grade. I've done this a few times already. Mostly good results.
