1943 Walker - Anyone seen this "addition" before?

I was going through some old coins and ran across this 1943 Walker with this "5" stamped on it. Has anyone seen this before? or is this just a case of coin defacement?

People have been messing with coins since coins came into being --I guess. Anyway, this Walker and many other coins have been counterstamped with all kinds of names, dates, birthdays, company names etc. And some are quite collectible. This piece---with just the number 5---probably not going to bring you anything more than silver value for the half itself. Bob [supertooth]
