U.S. Mint needs help...........

9 posts in this topic

The 2005 Unc. Mint Sets went on sale at noon today, and I placed my order immediately for 10 additional sets. As usual, I opted for the "Quick Checkout".

It took 5 minutes just to access the site; then it took 15 minutes to login. It took another 5 minutes to place the order and proceed to checkout. Then, it kept rejecting the order because of incomplete information, but nothing was omitted. This happened over and over and over and over again......very, very slowly! I finally got past the "incomplete info" obstacle and hit the "Submit" button. Now, it was rejected for some error code........over and over and over and over again.

EUREKA! I FINALLY COMPLETED THE "QUICK CHECKOUT" TRANSACTION 5 HOURS LATER!

There is no question that the person in charge of their computer operations should be fired, post haste. I know some 15 year olds that can do a better job.

I already have subscriptions for just about everything including the Mint Sets, but I wanted extra sets for this year.

I tried that, Hoot, but I couldn't get the operator when I turned the crank on the old machine.

I did - they cancelled my order without explaination.

I say off with his head (meaning the guy in charge of their computer operations)!!!!

Since my order got cancelled I re-ordered and not only did it take an hour to complete but they are sending it to the wrong address, which is ok since it is someone on my list and I will likely be there when the order arrives. Still.....

they cancelled my subscription last year, by the time i realized I hadn't got my uncirc sets they were sold out and going for a ton on ebay. I ended up picking up the coins I needed for my albums on ebay and will pick up an uncirc set in a few years when the price comes down.

This year I just added the release dates for the stuff I want to my calendar and will order from the mint on release day, much less agravation.

I have been using the subscription service for many, many years, and I have never missed a single release.
