the ''red book'' will give you certain criteria often not replicated easily by counterfeiters...size, weight that sort of thing. .

The problem with 1804's is very simple:  virtually all have been found, all have been authenticated by the very best numismatists available over the years and each bears an irreproachable provenance. There is, of course, a chance however unlikely that previously unknown specimens have heretofore never come to light. Only time will tell.

This is probably one of the ones sold on Amazon. If someone knows how to report a seller on Amazon this one needs handled. I looked for a way to report them and didn’t see it. This is exactly what’s causing so much grief in this hobby.
