Yet another stupid Bison error

3 posts in this topic

I think I found out what happened to the other part of the speared Bison. The attachment is at 60X but it can be seen at 5X easily. It looks like a little unicorn and i wish that I new how to put the pictures in the body of the message. Should I send it to PCGS so they can add another stupid varity to the list? This can't be any dummer than the speared bison can it?

Unfortunately, your picture doesn't show what you are referring to so impossible to make an informed opinion of the suspected variety. If it shows at 5X, then maybe that would be a better pic to put up for us to see. thumbsup2.gif

Do I detect a bit of cynicism when you get to the subject of the “speared buffalo” and other modern delicacies that PCGS has chosen to recognize?

Actually I agree with you. With literally thousands of 19th century varieties PCGS has chosen to ignore, they decide to promote a die state of modern coin, probably for the benefit of themselves, through additional submissions, and a few dealers of modern coins. Just think no collection of nickels will be complete if it does not have an example of this coin. screwy.gif

Yea right. Christo_pull_hair.gif And if you buy into this one there will more "must have" varieties for you to waste you money upon in the coming months and years. If the two Wisconsin quarters with the extra leaves were a true mint error, I'll eat my hat. juggle.gif
