Hinkle
Hi everyone, just happen to come across this nickel. What ever angle I look through the megafine scope, I can't for some reason see a date. I know there has to be a date, because obviously thats a lot of ware through heavily circulation. Just need some opinions on what to do with this one. Thanks.

Crawtomatic
Ferric Chloride. Apply with a soft bristled brush to the date area. Once the date becomes visible through the acid dip the nickel into a neutralizing solution like water+baking soda. Repeat if necessary. The area will become discolored though you will have revealed the date. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/MG-Chemicals/415-500ML?qs=X5SXQx2ktnMnr8o8z0VbqQ%3D%3D&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIy9KxrP775QIVgYbACh2USwNuEAQYAiABEgKzRfD_BwE
JKK
There is a special technique for this, if you don't want to ruin the nickel even worse than it already is by being dateless. It takes significant discipline and preparation, though. Most people nic-a-lening their Buffs ruin them completely (because most people just don't give a *spoon* and are slobs about life, quite frankly), but if you do it right, you can avoid that.
