Member: Seasoned Veteran Popular Post DWLange Posted November 12, 2019 Member: Seasoned Veteran Popular Post Share Posted November 12, 2019 Your coin didn't look like that when it left the mint. It's some form of alteration made outside the mint. Crawtomatic, tj96 and kenlee47
Greenstang
I agree, intentional damage (aka PMD). Coin has been ground or sanded removing some of the surface and the reeding. This is why it is smaller and weighs less.
Belle M
I came across this photo , I have a quarter that I just received mine is almost identical . Is there a possibility that they really could be some type of error coin?
Greenstang
Welcome to the Forum Your quarter is also PMD (Post Minting Damage) It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin. Anything that happens after that is considered damage kenlee47
