Jim Dimmick got home from whatever that last major show was a week or so ago and emailed me about this coin knowing that I was sort of on the prowl for one. He quoted me a price and told me to contact Gail about the coin if I was interested. I did so and promptly received an email with photos of the coin and was told that it was going to be listed on their site for approximately 1400.00 more than the price I had temporarily hanging out there for me.

I asked for a day to check out my lack of finances and also asked if she'd consider their lay away plan on it for me since I was about 1500 short on dough. She promptly emailed back that it would be fine. I called her the next day and spoke with her and worked out the payments. It will drive me nuts to Not have it here until August but Gail sure was accomodating to my needs.

2 thumbs up for JJTeaparty! acclaim.gifthumbsup2.gifthumbsup2.gif

The coin is in an NGC holder and (INCORRECTLY) holdered as PF40. The coin is the Snow 3 type.

I'm probably pretty much done buying coins for the rest of this year.

Here are pics of my 2 previous '56 flyers, both PCGS and both S3's. VF25 and AU50. The AU50 had a ding below the date that looked (to me) much worse in hand. I could never get past that ding.

Nice coin, John! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Comparing the images, I think it has better eye appeal than the AU50. The VF25, however, was a really nice piece. I remember when you bought the VF25 and you took that picture out in your driveway. thumbsup2.gif

I have purchased a few very nice coins from Gail including my Gobrecht dollar and a wonderfully original 1817/3 CBH.

goose3, Congratulations on your new ‘56 Flier, looks like third the charm, eh. 893applaud-thumb.gif

Nice looking coin, even wear, fields look clear of any dings or scratches, and no rim nicks! Well worth the wait. cloud9.gif

I’ve gotten a few of my type coins from JJTeaparty and have always been very happy with both the coins and doing business with them. Their web inventory is one of the few that I regularly check out. thumbsup2.gif

Congratulations on a great coin. Looks like a sure keeper.

I know what it is like to spend the "budget" on a single coin. Sometimes it just has to be done.

I have dealt with Gail and the folks at JJT and they are a nice group to do business with.

Nice coin, John. Gail & JJT are excellent!

Victor, I think the UBB code doesn't recognize a 'jpeg' extension. Change to 'jpg' and it should work.

Steve, how do you do that? I don't see that option anywhere. When I select file type it says JPEG(*.jpg) or bitmap. Any suggestions?

p.s. Thanks again for showing me how to post my pix on my sig line a long, long time ago. You are always cool in my book! (But, then again, my book is getting awefully ragged and is missing a few pages. grin.gif)

Tom

that amazes me that you recall that I took that photo outside of our old house!

Victor,

You do it like this:

1. downloading your image from the CS site and saving it as '.jpg' file

2. uploading it back to the CS site, and

3. viola!
