Your going to have to supply a much clearer picture to determine the cause. It is hard to even make out the letters let alone see any detail. And please orient your pictures properly.  Too hard to turn my head on an angle to see the coin.

Took to a coin collector today. He looked for 2 seconds and said it was damage. Like someone poured acid on it.
