In my opinion, giving the Treasury Dept. the authority to change the composition of our coinage to save money is something that should have been done long ago. Congress certainly does not have a reputation for saving money, and if given a chance to make changes, would probably load such a bill with so much pork, that the original intent of the bill would be lost completely. And, I am talking about both sides of the aisle.
