Bimetal token

A friend of mine gave me this the other day when he came across it at his house. Can someone tell me what it is exactly and if it has any value at all?

As always thank you!

Osborne Coinage, formerly Osborne Register (ORCO), is a private minter of tokens and medals. This is either a sample token created to provide a potential customer with an example of their work, or a token made to test a new alloy, design, composition, etc. Probably the latter. This particular token looks like a trial casino token.

I thought I had an image of one of my tokens with the Orco logo, but I guess I never took a picture of one. I like this particular version of their logo, because it looks like someone wrote it by hand. I wonder whose handwriting it was, if they did.

( I borrowed this picture from an Ebay listing):

Now I totally agree with you about the coin you posted! I love the look of this one so much better than mine. They should have stayed with this logo or one similar anyway. How old is your token?

The token above was minted sometime between 1920 and 1945.It isn't mine, though. I stole that picture off the web.

If you want to collect items from your home state, as I do, Louisiana has a lot of tokens to offer, from car washes to lumber companies, to seafood canneries to military bases. There is a book by Crawford,I believe, that should be readily available, and even a website devoted to them  Located here.

Travis,

Those are some really cool looking tokens! I’m very interested in seeing some of them you have. So what part of Louisiana are you from?

I'm not really a token guy, but I have to say that this thread is pretty interesting......you all have shared some pretty cool tokens!  Sadly, I couldn't jump in here to help because my knowledge of tokens couldn't even fill a thimble!  It's cool to see what you guys have, though.

Bob,

Thank you so much for the link to the Louisiana tokens. I checked it out a little and it’s going to be very cool getting different tokens from my state. Oh ,I actually found a few tokens I had put up and I couldn’t help but get tickled when I pulled them out! Yes, it is the infamous Chuck E. Cheese! Lol 😂

Mohawk,

I love old tokens but sadly at the moment my collection is just the won I started the thread about and my Chuck E. Cheese tokens! Lol 😂

Im hoping that changes sooner than later though! This has actually been a very entertaining thread for sure. You guys are all so great to take time to show us newbies all the stuff y’all do!

If you’re serious though, I do have some interesting ones & they’re yours ifin you want them.... I loved Chucky Cheese. Never understood why till I visited a casino. Mississipi has a good one. You did get me, idk about Bob, but I promise I’m just trying to help you guys if possible & when possible. Is it real that you collect ancients? I was going to send you something if you wanted it. I’m getting all mine together & had some doubles (ancient Chinese) if you’re interested. If we have trade tariffs, can their coins still be graded? Jw

Believe it or not, Chuck E Cheese tokens are collectible. There are even websites devoted to them. Here is one of them.

If could find an example with the name of a Mississippi city, I would certainly add it to my collection.

Unfortunately mine doesn’t have the city on any of them. I actually did know they were collectibles when I ran up on them while trying to research about the coinage company token I received. I really didn’t know they were collectibles until then though. Thank you so much for all the great info you have given me on tokens and the great websites to help me. I really appreciate you so much for all your time and info you have put into this thread!😄
