1947 s penny error?

Hi everyone I'm im new to coin collecting and I have a 1947 s penny with what seems to be a stamping error ( ring around the front and back) or is it just damaged any feedback helps. Thanks

Hello and Welcome!

Well, in looking at your cent, I'm thinking that it's post-minting damage.  I can think of no way that your coin received that kind of mark during the striking process.  However, I can easily see how a counting or rolling machine damaged that coin in that way sometime in the course of its 72 year life.
