Walking Liberty Set

5 posts in this topic

The prices listed in the books are only good is someone will buy them for that much..

Is there an interest out there for sets of coins? I just did some scanner stuff and ran this set off... It doesn't look to be in great condition, but every piece is there, some in high condition others worn. Is a set priced only at the combined value of the individual coins?

OK----Right up my alley----Looks like a fine--Xf + set from 37--47 with the 38D to be in decent fine condition. Coins are original----which is great. If you put this on Ebay with these decent pictures, you will get from 125 to 175 depending on the bidders and the week you put them on. Actually, this set is "above" what the [#@$%!!!] that is usually on Ebay which is why I put the value a little higher than what common pieces would bring. On a bad Ebay week you could get a little less. And, if you have the Walkers from 1916--36, put them on and let us tell you about them. Good luck. Bob [supertooth]

I think the coins grade from VG+ on the 44-D to AU on the 45-S and 43-P. I grade the 38-D as a F+ to perhaps VF. Of course, both sides of all of the coins need to be evaluated to determine a value.

My set is complete, but I have a friend who is building a set of Walkers. He would love this set, but he doesn't have internet access. I can send you his name and address if you decide to sell.

Unfortunately, it's been my experience that a set is usually worth less than the value of the individual coins. I agree with Supertooth's price estimate, but I think a fair price would be in the middle to upper end of the range because of the abaove-average quality.

i have one that you don't have. it's pretty worn and guess it to be somewhere around good to very good. more than likely it's good or g4 as i'm no expert on grading so the lower point is where i'll place it to be. 1917-s on obverse walking liberty half. the mint mark is hard to read with my eyesight and it's fairly worn, but appears to be an s mint mark. i do not clean or alter coins i get in any way.
