Bottle Cap Edge Nickel Help to Identify

I've had this nickel in a box since I was a kid. I'd like to know what could have possibly caused the bottle cap edge. And yep, I'm a newbie. Go easy on me.

I doubt that it was done with an actual bottle capper, since the serrations are unequally  shaped, and it appears that both sides are convex,  but it was done with some kind of punch or press - after it left the mint.

Not a mint error, but kind of cool looking.

Lol! Someone went through some trouble to make an actual bottle cap out of a coin. I wonder if they were going for the capped die effect?  Some sites do call it bottle capped. That is too cool.
