2005 Mint sets to have satin finish

11 posts in this topic

According to Numismatic News 5/17 page four, states the the US Mint will have a satin finish on all 2005 (22 coin set) Mint states coins.

Does that mean that we will have to have both a satin finish and a regular finish?

Nobody says you have to. 893scratchchin-thumb.gifwink.gif Will modern collectors collect brilliant AND satin pieces? Yup. Is that bad? Nope. I think the coins will be interesting.

I don't know if they will offer both. I just received notice from the Mint that they will be processing my subscription very soon. We shall see!

This might mean no more super high-grade businsess strike State Quarters, at least in any quantity that is. Few 68s come out of rolls and bags.

Then I must be on one heck of a roll! I've been getting the $25 bags from the Mint, and I've been averaging 8-12% graded MS68. I guess I'd better call my friend in Colo. Spgs...............the Powerball jackpot is at $96 Million.

My unc set says shipped 5/10/05...is this possible?

Are you sure it said "shipped" 5/10/05? If so, you should have received it by now. I received a notification on 5/10 that my subscription would be processed in about 3 weeks which corresponds to the 5/31 release date.

I guess it was sent Pony Express? frustrated.gif

Of course the site also states:

This product will be available for sale on May 31, 2005, at 12:00 noon (ET).
