How can i get this glue off?

So my son got me the US Coins of the 20th Century for Mother's Day and it came in today. I am oober excited to start my 1st collection and super thrilled with my template and frame. The coins are cool too. Lol! My plan was and is to remove the the coins and start a collection-of reasonably easy to find coins. Anyway, some person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed glued the coin into it so half of them have a hardened glue all over them. Yep. I think it was actually sticky paper that was used, if that helps. So idk what kind of glue it is or how to get it off. Anybody have any ideas?

Also, are the templates valuable? Mine has an error. Really though, there's a typo in the 1st paragraph.

If it was sticky paper, Googone will typically dissolve that. However, you will want to make sure it gets dried out very well so it doesn't leave a residue that will get on the next coin that gets put into that spot.

I thought about the goo-b-gone but worried about the chemicals, won't they do somthing bad to the finish? I been working on them with a sharpened wooden skewer, but it is very time consuming-it's a good thing I have no life-and I noticed that rubbing them with the gauze seems to warm the glue up so it comes off easier. I think I'm going to try a hair dryer.

The chemicals might do something to the surfaces, but not as much as abrading them. At least a surface can be re-toned. I'd find out what kind of glue it is.

Well, I have only gotten 3 pennies done but my skewer doesn't seem to have fouled them at all other than to turn them bright and pretty colors. But I think the hair dryer is going to do the trick. Its almost like a wax but it isn't. I mean they are far from great coins but anytime you have and old 30's or 40's cent that you can confidently self-grade at MS67 or 68 they are worth sealing up, I think anyway.
