a crummy bunch of my lousy, good-for-nothing coins on eBay

PS Do you actually make anything off your auctions?

Hayden, honestly, No, I probably lose money overall on my auctions, at least lately. One of the coins I listed recently (1932-S quarter), I lost $50 on! BUT, I have sold three coins off my website to recent eBay winners. In a sense what I lose in eBay revenue, I hope to make up in advertising revenue.

Ah yes, the Worldcom accounting strategy.

Since you provide free shipping, I'm going to go bid face value on all your auctions. wink.gif

One suggestion, put the denomination in your auction title. While pulling up a list of your auctions, I noticed 1936, MS-64 (ANACS), an obviously SUPERIOR coin, 1cNR! and thought it was a 1c while it is really a 50c.

Again to make money on ebay you have to doi the following.

First charge 6.99 for shipping then send coin in #10 envelope

Call coins moster toning even though there is only a speck of toning

For the love of god man shake the camera when taking pictures Christo_pull_hair.giffrustrated.gif!!!!!!

Ebayers love fuzzy photos where all you can tell is you are buying something round

say all items are from estate sells and you know nothing about coins

if selling wheat cents call them unserached even if only selling one

Hype your coins and say all your certified coins are undergraded

Finally use L@@K in title

Those are very good suggestions. I would also add that while free shipping is a wonderful thing, you should add a handling charge to the cost of shipping, perhaps $5 per item.

Also, you take PayPal and there should be a convenience charge of 5% for that. Same for sending checks or money orders. No convenience charge for cash as you'll just tell the buyer you never received it and force them to mail you a check or money order - with a 5% convenience charge added! thumbsup2.gif

Don't forget to charge a very large restocking fee and overlook and small problems the coins may have like polishing, holes, etc.

We'll have you profitable in no time!

That's it, I've had it! From now on, I'm going to put a $27,500 reserve on everything I sell! Nobody's going to make a fool of ME any more, there's no way I can lose!

Well James,I"m glad I'm not the only one losing money on eBay frustrated.gif

Maybe you should start offering the coins on the boards a week before you put them on eBay.Who knows you might actaully break even 893whatthe.gif

Also,I said it before and I'll say it again it is very inconvienent for bidders when you don't list the denomination in the auction title! Christo_pull_hair.gif

Good luck on your auctions! thumbsup2.gif
