My NGC Toned Peace $ -- I finally imaged all of them!!!

11 posts in this topic

I finally got around to imaging my set registry set of toned Peace $ with duplicates yesterday.

The pics are hosted @ PBase.com which I highly recommend as a hosting site, they allow you to set your pics up as a webpage collection. And for $23 a year, they're cheap and easy to use.

Take a look and tell me what you think -- all 35 coins are posted here, just click on the gallery toned_peace!

Thanks for looking!!!

Beautiful collection, Michael! I like the 25 the best, the 21 next, and, and, and, and................

I'm still an insufficiently_thoughtful_person whan it comes to putting pics up. I looked into Photobucket but they don't give you any "How to's". Does Pbase provide you with instructional info?

Thanks

Chris

Great looking set of dollars, I really like two of your 1923s, the MS63 & MS65. 893applaud-thumb.gif893applaud-thumb.gif

You have also done a beautiful job of imaging them. thumbsup2.gif

That is a fantastic set of Peace dollars.

All of them are great but I love the 34. hail.gif

I'm sure it was no easy task to assemble such a set as this.

Your collection represents a heck of a lot of work! One of the coins on the first page appeared to be textile toned, was it? If so, that may be the only textile toned Peace dollar I have ever seen. thumbsup2.gif

I noticed that also but did not know of the rarity...

It really is/was a hard collection to assemble. Unfortunately, I'm not done yet! I still want to upgrade several coins, especially the 28, 26-D, 27, 27-S and 34-D. The 34-S and 28 in MS are impossible coins to find. Most of these get a quick dipped in order to get them into a more valuable slab/grade.

I am lucky in the fact that most of the coins I really didn't pay any premium for the toning. But now, its getting harder and harder to find toned Peace $ at any price. When coins I think should sell for $150-$200 on Ebay are going for $400, its tough to pony up such a huge premium.

There are some very unique coins in there though. The textile toned 22 is one of them. Its really a one of a kind coin, I've never seen another. I have a 23 mintbag crescent rainbow thats @ NGC for grading right now. Thats a neat one that I'll post pics of when it comes back! I'm still looking for an endroller to complete the trifecta!

Thanks for all the kudos. Its been a interesting collection to do. I doubt if I'll ever been "done" with it though. Theres always nicer coins to find!

I guess you can say I'm a true Toned Peace Nut! wink.gif

Great pics! I'll have to check into the apparatus you suggested for taking photos. Seems like an easy set-up. laugh.gif
