Although, with the hit on the steps, this is not an easy coin to locate, not by a long shot! Others probably have seen and passed up on this coin, HELLO , but not me! I was very excited buyiug this coin, best 1949 I've ever seen in 14+ years! Other coin pics to follow from that coin show!Leo yay.gif

Here's another nickel I picked up from that coin show and for $18. The seller of this coin also had a couple of buffalo nickels in Ngc holders with similar toning. Possibly album toning. It's not a full stepper, just color!

I have been trying to find nice (let alone FS) 1949 Jeffs. for awhile to finish a Mint Set. I was beginning to think that they did not exist! Thanks for the encouraging pictures, Leo. I will keep looking.

And lastly, a 1982-D! I was also able to locate a 1976-D MS65 5.75 steps. There's actually separation all along the 5th and 6th step but the coin is still in one of those Denver Souvenir sets so there's no pics yet of that coin.

Those are some great looking nicks Leo. The 49 and the 55 are particularly impressive.

Not being a collector of Jeffies, the full steps don't impress me that much.

But the Jefferson with all the color. That one I like, alot.

Nice finds Leo.

I picked up some nice modern nickels and dimes from the Auburn, MA coin show last February. I'll show pics of them when my coins come back from NGC within a couple of days.

They're on their way! laugh.gif

I am new to FS nickels. I may be dense, but I never thought to look at how many steps were visible on a nickel. Now I have been going through rolls of nicks to see if I can find any FS or at least 5 step nickels in the rolls. Thank you all for turning me on to this facet of collecting.

Sorry to jump in on this thread. bumpit.gif

I haven't narrowed down what I collect yet. I have been collecting pocket change for 30 years. I didn't really collect one thing until the Silver American Eagles came out in 1986. My grandmother got me one and I have collected every year since. I was collecting the regular issues by buying them on eBay. I have every year so far. But recently I started collecting the SAE proof coins. I keep the BU's in a Dansco album, hoping for some nice toning. (hahaha!)

I recently got interested (from reading this group) in full step nickels. Most pocket change contains nickels that have the steps all but obliterated, or never there in the first place. I have some old nickels from a brand new roll I got when working as a cashier. They were in good condition and as soon as I find them again (packed from moving) I will search for the steps.

Thanks for the welcome to the group. I have been enjoying reading it for about 2 months now. I really enjoy it.
