Your kind of comfusing me with the question.I voted for ICG as far as being submitter friendly.Only service I can think of that you can actually call the president of the company.Useless factioind his name is James Taylor at ICG.

Now with variety attribution it is ANACS.

Please clear up your post so we know exactly what you want.

I voted for ANACS, primarily due to their free verbal opinions and the accessibility of the graders. It would be interesting to see a poll for the least submitter-friendly service....

I consider myself fortunate because I am only an hour away from the NGC office. It's very helpful to be able to have their assistance completing submission forms, especially for me (with some of my wild notions)!

I don't particularly like the idea of verbal opinions and access to the graders, though. As I understand it, the grading and review process involves several people, supposedly to render unbiased assessments. Each grader is unaware of the other assessments. A verbal opinion could put someone "on the spot" which may, or may not be "shot down". For that reason, a verbal opinion doesn't carry too much weight for me.

Anything more than one person's opinion might be viewed as influence-peddling. I would rather do business with a company like NGC whose strict Code of Ethics gives me reassurance that their integrity is a prime, motivating factor.

ANACS !!!!!

Friendly, easy to do bizz, no games, net grades, reasonable pricing, grading comparable with any.

But......no one has the confidence to buy a coin in their slab.

Go figger.

I also have to vote for ANACS !

mainly because if you have a double die coin but are unsure of the variety for a small fee they'll do a variety search for you where as with the other services if you don't know the exact variety it don't get put on the holder,Plus you don't have to buy a membership to be able to submit your coins to them!

That's because people are buying the holder not the coin!!

If you're submitting varieties, then of the top 4 services ANACS is the most "submitter friendly", if you want to call it that. That's only because NGC has a fairly short list of what varieties they will designate. PCGS's list is even smaller. I can't comment on ICG's.

However, of all the services SEGS will designate many varieties that ANACS will not. They're a fine service if you want more obscure or smaller varieties designated.

Here's why I voted for ANACS. Please bear in mind that I very rarely get my own coins certifed; I've had fewer than ten of my own coins ever certified. If I'm submitting coins for certification, it's almost certainly for a client.

I see ANACS at most shows. I can walk my coins over, get a verbal opinion, and any obvious losers get removed consideration immediately. Then, I just have Mike (I guess it would be someone else now) fill out the sheet for me, estimate values, he packs up the coins for me, and wham-bam, it's all done. So, I find them very convenient in this regard.

I have also had occasion to call ANACS to correct a submission, or whatever, and found their customer service to be excellent and flexible, too.

If NGC set up at shows as ANACS does, and made the submission process so convenient, I would rank them tops. This does not mean that I'd rank ANACS tops overall as the certification company of choice though!

The one time I attempted to avail myself of ICG's customer service, which was directly with Jim Taylor, I was extremely disappointed, so they are not even close to the top for me.

Finally, and I mean this as constructive criticism, and not a slam: on the couple of occasions that I have tried, I found PCGS customer service to be incredibly poor. That was during the time of the infamous Norweb incident, though.

If you're strictly going by "submitter friendly" I'd have to choose PCI. You can write your submission on the back of a cocktail napkin, as long as the fee is somehow stuffed into the envelope, they'll grade the coins.

I've also submitted coins outside of a flip (each wrapped in toilet paper sheets) and get the coins back, hassle free and smelling fresh.

I abstained from voting because I happen to like both NGC and ANACS.

I myself prefer my coins in PCGS or NGC holders but voted for ANACS as the most submitter friendly.

I didn't vote.

I'm still pretty new to the submission game. NGC is the only TPG that I have used.

I did enjoy reading all the comments. It looks like ANACS does a great job according to the posts that I read.

I am probably biased in my thinking and reasoning, but NGC & PCGS are about 95% of the certified coins that I purchase.

My next move is to get some coins submitted to PCGS and then we will see from there.
