Warning- Counterfeit US Postal Money order Scam

3 posts in this topic

This is a C&P:

I was contacted by a "broker" who wanted to purchase some coins for his "client". He sent US Postal money orders for the purchase. When the money orders arrived (from the UK) they where made out for a lot more than the purchase price. I get an email from the "broker" asking if we had rec'd payment & letting me know that he would let me know what to do with the extra funds.

The money orders looked a little off, so I checked them carefully. They are not on the lost or stolen list on the USPS site. The big give away is they do not have the Ben Franklin watermark or the USPS ink stripe that is imbedded in the real money orders.

Please be careful!
