T he se;ler of the 23-S SLQ I previously accounted as being an altered date has provided a close up of the date of a genuine coin. Whether this is a close up of the coin posted I cannot say. But the close up provided does have the correct diagnostics for a genuine 1923 quarter. As stated in the listing all sales are final, and communications may be lacking as seller states they are frequently out of town. But, none the less, if the close up the seller has provided is of the actual coin for sale then I apologize both to the seller and the members of the forum for my err.

Here's what she had to say concerning my inquiry. I should had said, your coin may be a fake instead of the much more forward way I wrote it.

Leo, I am sorry that I didn't have a better picture of the date, so--- I am enclosing a close-up picture of the date--It is definitely a 1923-S coin. Please see the flat top in the picture, and the pointed top corner of the "3" --it is not rounded like an eight is. I will add this picture to the listing--to show others, ---it should erase any doubts. Thanks for checking out my coins, RC
