SMS Cameo Licoln

3 posts in this topic

I have a SMS Cameo Lincoln but it has some black carbon spots and haze on it.

It is still in the original government packaging. I was thinking of having it sent to NCS. My question is can you get the carbon spots out and the haze and not consider the coin cleaned? I mean can I have it slabbed in a regular NGC slab with a grade if it has been conserved?

Thanks,

At NCS, we do not use any techniques that would cause your coin to become deemed "improperly cleaned" by a major grading service such as NGC. The haze would likely be removed from your coin causing it to likely grade higher with NGC. The spots, depending on what is causing them, will likely be reduced through professional conservation.
