Half Mercury Dime, Half Wheat Back, Possable??

These are commonly known as magician's coins and are made by carefully machining out a cavity in the larger coin (in this case the Wheat cent) and then fitting in the smaller coin (in this case the Merc) into the hole. If done well, the work may not even be noticible. These sell for as little as a few dollars to up to $20 or so.

I agree with the other comments - these are fabrications from outside the mint. You'll also find that there are Roosevelt dimes mated with Wheat cents or Memorial cents.
