Counterfeit NGC MS64 $20 in slab on ebay

If you follow the thread ATS some fools have bid this up to $100,000 on eBay. I don't know what the game is, but the discussion over there has gotten down to what your rights would be if you obligated yourself to this obvious, not very well done counterfeit.

 

The serial number does match with an NGC graded 1904 $20 gold in MS-64. The trouble is it's not the same piece or the same slab.

I don't think the people who have bid the coin up to six figures are "fools". They have insured that none of the bidders who are unaware that the coin is bad, end up with it.

The coin was removed by the seller on Friday within hours of that thread being started ATS.

If you look closely at the items, such as the Lincoln Pennies or the PCGS Slab he has for sale - it is all fake and people are buying his stuff. And IDK much if anything about Morgans but were any privately made?

Only MS64? Surely NNC would have graded it higher.

Privately Made is exactly what that "coin" is. Of course it can't also be an 1896-O as those were all made by the New Orleans mint in 1896.
