No response from NGC ???

Over the past couple of weeks I've sent e-mails to NGC via their website "contact us" feature. In them I requested a replacement for my stolen "free submission" coupon. My registered insured package (containing the coupon and 5 Morgan dollars) was stolen from the Sarasota Post Office (home post office of NGC). I realize NGC is not responsible for the theft, but I thought it reasonable that they might replace the lost coupon.

The claim has been paid by the Post Office, but I still lost the coupon which I would like replaced. As yet I have not received a replacement from NGC (or even the courtesy of a reply). Am I asking something unreasonable or are they perhaps that busy ??? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

jrh - try giving them a call. I've sometimes had bad luck leaving them messages on the phone or emailing to their general mailbox.. It's like messages get lost in space. Call, though, and talk to an operator who will hook you up with a Customer Service rep. 1-800-587-1897. They have great cust. service.

This reminds me of a suggestion box that I installed by a time clock at an old former workplace. My boss had me do it and for the next 6 months I knew no-one was checking into the messages left by the employees because I still had the keys to that dinky little padlock! Happy

Years later at another place of work, at a golf course, we installed a suggestion box out into the middle of a pond! Happy

I discovered that calling NGC directly is way better than email. In fact, they have never responded to any of the couple emails I've evern sent them confused.gif.

However, their phone-based customer service is EXCELLENT.

It only stands to reason that NGC would have some sort of spam filter in place to keep most of us from bothering them with piddly stuff like

"WHERE THE HILL ARE MY COINS"?!?!?!?!!!

"WHEN WILL THEY BE GRADED"!?!?!?!?!

"ARE YOU SURE MY 14-D IS COUNTERFEIT"?!?!?!?!?!

"DID MY 53-S IN MS67 MAKE 5FS OR 6FS"?

"BB???? AW C'MON, THAT 1885 TD IS A 67 FER CRYIN OUT LOUD"!!!!!!! Etc., etc., etc.

A nice, well mannered and calm voice over the phone will do wonders! Won't change the grades/attributes but guaranteed, should get you the freebie submission you lost. cloud9.gif

I just received a nice reply from NGC informing me that they were going to take care of replacing the coupon (which I very much appreciate). As I stated previously, I know NGC was in no way responsible for the loss and I'm sure they are as concerned over the disappearance of my package in the Sarasota Post Office as I am. Hopefully this was an isolated incident and not a pattern of ongoing or future problems for everyone.

Seems there was some problem in them receiving my e-mail messages and when they were informed of my post on the boards they immediately contated me to try to answer my request. And, just for the record, during the months when the package was missing (and I communicated with NGC by e-mail) they always responded promptly and with great concern over the problem.

NGC has been and will continue to be "first rate" in my book. Now, as for the Post Ofiice..... I'm not sure, but I suppose I'll try again soon.

First, I'm sorry you lost your package. That truly rots.

Second, I'm disconcerted and frankly astounded that the Post Office allowed a theft of Registered Mail. This sort of mail is supposedly maintained under lock and key for the duration of the Post Office's custody, with accountability at each step of the transit. I trust this is an isolated incident and that the interloper will eat gray spaghetti with a tweezers while sharing quarters with a nice (but affectionate) man named Tiny for approximately the next two decades.
