Pretty easy one..................just about anyone you ask on any of the forums is going to vote for ICG as they are the newest service of the 4 and are certainly known to be a grade or two off on most coins. I think the high grade modern stuff is for the most part overgraded, where as a lot of the lower MS grade and circulated stuff is pretty accurate. thumbsup2.gif

Ditto to what Shane says, just look at the marketplace, which shows a lot of collector opinion. Like for example in modern proofs, a PF69 DCAM anything sells for a whole lot less in a ICG holder then a NGC or PCGS. ICG also seems to find lots of PF70s, something I don’t think I ever saw before they started grading… er over grading I mean. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I believe I botched my posting of this thread as I think you got the wrong idea.What i mean is opinions on icg anacs and pcgs.Just post your opinions.The poll is a seperate thing for you to vote on wich one you think is the worst.I didn't mean just talk about the one you feel is the worst.

I buy and sell mostly NGC graded coins. NGC is # 1to me! The reason is NGC's customer service and the speed that they get your coins graded and back to you! Also for the most part they grade like I do!

 

I will buy PCGS coins but I hate to send in coins myself to PCGS. That makes them # 2 to me. If you like moderns and certain high grade type you can get more money for a PCGS graded coin than any other service. The reason is their stupid registry not any better grading.

 

ANACS is OK as # 3. The newer holders are closer graded to NGC and PCGS grading but they still goof up once in a while. If you are interested in varieties they are the best service to use.

 

I will buy coins in ICG holders (#4) but will bust them out most of the time. It is hard to get an ICG graded coin to cross with NGC unless you have freed it from its holder. Their quality control isn't the best, IMO.

 

I wouldn't buy any coin in any other holder unless I can look over the coin extremely well! But you can find bargins lurking in them from time to time. Mostly it is just junk...
