There is a thread on the PCGS board about "the history of the $4 Stellas." The author certainly means well but doesn't provide much "meat."

 

The next issue of Journal of Numismatic Research has an extensive article built on original sources about the Stellas and other "Goloid and Metric Patterns." The issue is being printed and should be available in a couple of weeks.

I was on Wizard the other day and looking if any new issues were out that I didn't already have, yet had articles of interest to me. I did not see any.

 

Glad to hear you have not abandoned this publication as I find it very useful although some of the issues have dealt with areas that I have no interest in. This upcoming issue sounds of interest to me so a buyer I will be. ;)
