Who here collects Conder Tokens

I find them very interesting and many are rather beautiful. Considering their rarity, age, and the condition they can be found in, they seem extremely cheap compared to actual coins.

I've given serious thought to starting a collection of them. However, I want to get a copy of the DH book before going after them seriously. I'm just not in the mood to pay $185 for a new copy of the book and every time one comes up on eBay I get outbid. Last time I lost out by something like 11c. frown.gif

Here is one that I own (die cracks and all):

It seems to be a fairly common type. It is a 1792 Great Britain 1/2P Warwickshire - Birmingham D&H-237.

I believe I have two others, but they are either in at NGC or in a box waiting to go in. I can't recall what they are.

That's a beautiful one, CD.

Greg, I was just working on a thread for the Coin Tangents board about my Lady Godiva piece! blush.gif That's pretty weird...either that...or great minds really do think alike! smirk.gif893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Great minds! thumbsup2.gifsmile.gif

I've wanted to post this one since I got it, but could never get a good picture. Finally I sat down and worked it until I got one.

The Lady Godiva theme is cool. It's also nice to see an animal on each side. That is something that doesn't seem to happen too often on coins.

Cosmic - Very informative site and a great bunch of tokens - I looked at each one. thumbsup2.gif Nice how you can scroll the list and each will appear in succession (although "Next" and "Previous" buttons might be more intuitive). Anyhow, excellent job.
