1911-s Lincoln

Do you want a raw or slabbed 1911-S Lincoln? I buy some early Lincoln cents from David Lawrence Rare Coin, but most of his stock is NGC/PCGS graded. He does occasionally carry some early date, circulated Lincoln cents. There are also some reliable EBay dealers and maybe someone here could recommend one.

I may have a raw 11-S in one of my several raw sets - been collecting Lincolns since 1950 and always saved the early S mints - just gotta find it and then figure out the grade as my skills are geared towards the UNCs and if they're not Unc - I don't really try and grade 'em, I just call 'em Circs.

This is the kind of coin I typically try and carry, but I checked, and my best is only VF. I do have a super-choice AU-50 in my personal set, but it's not for sale!

Good luck - this is definitely a tougher issue in high-end circulated grades!

Thanks James, I've been amazed at how difficult a handful of these lincolns were to find in XF

I finished my XF-AU set about two years ago. Oddly enough, it was the 1919-D that I had trouble finding and it was the last coin to complete my set.

My 1919-D is gorgeous - a brown AU-58. Actually, here's what I DON'T have in XF/AU yet (I have them in lower grades though):

1912-S, 1913-S, 1914-D (have VF-30), 1914-S (actually, I have an unc, but want to DOWNgrade), 1915-D, 1916-S, 1920-D,S, 1924 (?!), 1926-D and 1927-S

I remember, one "common" coin that I had a devil of a time finding was the 1937-D....

I LOVE hearing about real collectors putting together real collections! KEEP IT UP!!!!!!

Here's a quick funny story that just happened last night at the coin club. A fellow walked up with his Lincoln want list, and guess what the first coin on his list was?

1911-S.

He already has the S-VDB!
