JJ, its rarer than I thought. Here is an authentic example

web page

Greg, I would of had suspicions about it due to the surfaces, and the poor quality, but I found out about it on a forgeries discussion list I'm on. Its a documented fake.

I'm not sure if they do or not, but its going to be interesting to find out. ICG, the seller, bidders, and ebay were all notified by somone on the forgeries list I'm on. I'm curious to see what happens.

Thier website talks about a grading guarentee (except for copper and clerical errors) but they make no mention of an authenticity guarentee. confused-smiley-013.gif

Doesn't the goofy guy in the funny hat own ICG? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Jame Taylor, listed as president of the company.

I'd also be surprised if they didn't make good on the coin.

It seems that if a grade guarantee applies to the coin as identified in the holder, then it should naturally cover identity. After all, if the coin is incorrectly identified, then the grade is incorrectly applied.

I suppose that one could look at it from the viewpoint that the grade is correct for the coin as identified, but that mistake lies with the grading service, not the submitter or owner. The conditions of grade often apply to a particular issue, so if the coin is a fake, then those conditions change.

Just my rambling thoughts. Hoot

Actually,several folks are listed as founders:James Taylor,Keith Love,and Walt Armitage.(I think that's all)So I think it's made up of these 3 co-owners.

ICG will most definately make right. They're a very reputable company.
