I don't believe it has to do with Hannible. I've seen them as cheap at $79.00, but that particular example is about $1000.00. I've owned 1 lower grade on in the past when I was collecting coins of the 12 Caesars. You can see the elephant trampling the serpent, which is symbolic of good beating evil. The reverse side shows implements that Priests use.
