How can I look up the status of an NCS submission?

7 posts in this topic

I have the invoice number. Is there a way to look up the status of a submission online?

Thanks, Dennis

Don't be too optimistic in the grades! NGC has tightened up their grading to the point of absurdity recently.

I've been hearing that too, which really scares me. I have five fairly expensive coins in for clients right now, and a body-bag would really be a bite in the rear end. frustrated.gif

Most of the stuff I'm submitting has been world coins, but the grading there seems normal.

I did just get back an invoice of SMS coin. While the grades seemed inline with what I was expecting, they were very strict on the Cam/UCam designation. Two solid heavy cameo coins only got the Cam designation instead of the UCam. Another two coins with nice, full cameos did not get the designation.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing these absurdly strict grades! NGC has been absolutely crazy with some of there grading! A have had previous NGC-66 coins that were borderline 67 go 64 blush.gif That is unacceptable!

How can an individual have any confidence in TPG's if they have no consistency, reward big submitters with upgrades and have such major brain-dumps that they downgrade choice coins?

The idea of tightening up grading standards in order to enhance the perception that their slabs are more valuable is nothing but, IMO, manipulative nonsense. But the history of numismatics has always been squirrelly/shady!

So, buy the coin and not the holder.
