Here's a twist on GTG. I currently have this coin on E-Bay. It's either an MS 65 or it's been lightly cleaned and will get a details grade. Your input will determine if I take it down.

The coin looks very dull, especially for an early "S" mint coin. It appears to me that it's been dipped. At first glance, the coin appears free of contact marks, but upon closer examination, I can see small marks on the cheek and some in the fields. There's also something going on on the neck. There appears to be some residue above Ms. Liberty and above the eagle on the reverse from an improper rinse.

I'd say lack of luster holds this coin back from a 65. Possible 64.

If it's uncertified, shouldn't you refrain from including grading opinions in the listing, anyway? Why complicate things? It looks like a 64 to me.

I agree I guess.

I was more interested in whether the coin looks cleaned. If not it should be a higher grade coin since contact marks seem minimal.

Thanks guys.

The major TPGs have a monopoly on grades on eBay. That's because eBay is so concerned about protecting the public. Yeah, that's what it is.
