1883 indian cent mis-struck ?

I have an 1883 indian cent that has a reversed ONE CENT and partial sheild on the face??? There is also the rim inprint of the other coin that was obviously on top of or underneath.?? Any Ideas? Ever heard of a coin like this?

It sounds like it may have been struck with clashed dies. That happens when dies clash (as the term suggests) when a coin blank fails to fall into the die during striking. When the dies hit each other, they transfer mirror images of each other to the other die.

 

They are really common in gold dollars and other smaller coins.
