It's finally here! Lots of snow! It almost makes a guy want to fly......

The Seminole Tribe still have communities in the Everglades where you can see them wrestle gators. There are also airboat rides that can take you into the glades to see wild ones (look up the name "Billie" under "Airboat Rides". If you like to play golf, you can spot them around many of the water hazards. Just be careful your ball doesn't land near a nest. Mama gets pretty mad if you try to retrieve your ball near her clutch. Most of the time, they just think they are marshmallows and eat them.....golf balls, of course. If you have the time, the Fun Show is only 15 miles south of the new Seminole/Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood. There are always tribe members around who can give you more info. I don't advise playing the slots, unless you like Class II Gaming (Nintendo machines). They do have daily Texas Hold-em tournaments.

Leo,

I feel for you guys. With the wind chill, it was down to about 72 today. grin.gif

Yeah, won't I feel out of place walking around with a bleached white face! 893whatthe.gif

It's 15 degrees below zero right now up here. sumo.gif And we're not even in the cold area. tongue.gif It wouldn't be so bad if the wind would stop blowing. My diesel Jetta doesn't like it this cold and it's hard to find #1 diesel without a drive out of town a bit. Me and my dog could go for some gators right about now. shy.gif

Oh, now I see. It's all your fault and Montana's that we have over a foot of snow here in Tonopah, NV and are expecting the "storm of the century" tonight.

Apparently it is self evident that Montana sucks, which in turn draws the moist Pacific air up into the stratosphere which produces supercooled ice crystals which in turn is dumped upon my fair town.

p.s. I really don't have issues with Montana (it is a cool state), it's just that Hoot guy, mainly. smirk.gif

Careful, Hoot! To a gator, dog is just another word for appetizer.

With crackers, my dog could be quite good.

You're just getting what you deserve, Victor. One good drip deserves another. devil.gif

You know, your karma is going to lead you straight up here one day. You'll probably get a nice rural assignment, like Winnett or Ekalaka. Even that big furry thing won't keep you warm in those places. smirk.gif

Cool is the operative word, I'm afraid.

Even in "the fair Northwest" (Bellingham, WA) it is snowing today! We are supposed to get 5" or so. However, it at least warmed up a little to above freezing in order to snow.

Whew! I guess that I got out of that area just in time to miss the snow. 893whatthe.gif

Wait a minute! Isn't that like out of the frying pan into the fire but with snow? tongue.gif

Rumor has it that three storm systems are going to collide and create one heck of a snow storm in the Tonopah/Reno, NV area. We will see. And I'm on call all weekend long at the hospital. We'll see how much they work me...

Gator wrestling!! What an idea! I think these pop top chasers should wrestle gators for their coins! Winner takes all............if anyone survives that is!

Will call it, "Pop Top Fear Factor"! 27_laughing.gif Or maybe it would be more interesting to watch them eat animal guts and maggots for the number one spot?

Hey Victor, get your frozen down here! You ought not have to weather it out up there in that one coin town! thumbsup2.gif We're just getting the rain we should have gotten over the summer. It was a nice 55 with mostly sun today for my golf (birdied 3 holes on the back side...won't talk about the other 15!). frustrated.gif

Mark, I've got room on my couch for you anytime! You gotta get here on your own tho...can't help you with shoeshoes or skiis! Does your dog know "Mush" or does he think it's chow time? grin.gif Lotsa salsa waiting to warm you up!

And Charlie, I lived in and around Seattle for over 15 years so I know the snow level occasionally drops to sea level in PS area. Don't worry...you know it'll be gone within a couple of days and it will be back to rain as usual! Keep up that fitness level the Seattle area is now famous for (Bellingham ain't that far away!)! I think it's just from all the running from one Starbucks to the next with lots of "lift and tilt" exercises for both arms. Now I have to run from casino to casino to do the same thing! Geez, I miss a good cinnamon mocha! They haven't a clue down here!

Well, David, I'm heading for Mt. Charleston (which is now but 25 miles outside of Vegas on the road to Reno. Not too long ago it was 40 miles outside of town) this Sunday. And, I hear, that there is 3 feet of snow up there. So sure, great advice. Vacation in the desert during the winter months. foreheadslap.gif

David, hopefully we can have a raincheck on going to a LV show sometime. I'm always scheduled to work weekends but I can rearrange my schedule sometime. thumbsup2.gif

Looks as though I may have spoken too soon! This started about 30 minutes ago.

We'll have to wait and see how long it lasts and how much we get. BIG flakes tell me it is very close to being rain instead of snow. I'll take more pics on my way to work. Not often we get this stuff here!

That sounds extra-good right now! I'll have to keep the idea in my dreams! cloud9.gif

Nice home, David! Great taste.

I remember being in the middle of the Indian Ocean in the late '80's in the Navy and hearing about it snowing in Las Vegas.

It's snowing in Tonopah now but the wind is pretty rough. We just sent out a patient with a ruptured appendix to Las Vegas. That's a 215 mile trip. The wind is too bad to fly anyone out.

I hope that my Sunday plans aren't spoiled. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif
