So a dealer has this coin..

23 posts in this topic

Its a major dealer. The coin has a set, fixed price, but the coin is way overpriced. They say nothing on their website about making offers on coins. Evidently, they don't accept offers. Should you go ahead and make them an offer? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

If you want it make an offer. Duh. No harm done. Duh. What hidden meaning is behind this type of naive question?

Thing, shouldn't you be ironing your panties about now? I'm only saying that because your response just now cut me to the deep and I must lash out somehow.

You were the one crying like a girley man. Now go do the laundry and make us men some dinner.

Why don't you just SHUT THE [#@$%!!!] UP. Ok. Thanks. I need to make a post as follows. "Hey I really like that car but they have in the window, $3800. Should I offer a lower amount?"

You're as dumb as the day is long, Thing.

And you are as long as a 2 year old boy.

There you go again with your [#@$%!!!] obsessions. Geez. P.S. and that slam was extremely weak. You ok?

I'm under the influence of narcotics. They tend to slow my superior wit down a bit.

You're taking freaking vicodin, big deal. I eat a bowl of them with milk every morning. It's glorified aspirin.

See, the thing is, this is a BIG dealer. Like Heritage. Heritage has coins marked "Make an Offer", then, they have coins that have fixed prices. Has anyone ever made an offer on a fixed price coin from Heritage? Its not like they are TJ's House of Coins and Butt Beads.

You could always just give them a ring and ask if that's their best price on the coin. If the price is firm you could then tell them if it sits in inventory too long and they mark it down to help move it to call you back.

Yup - three times. And each time, my offer was accepted. Two were buffalo nickels I currently own - a 13-S and a 23 - and the other was my 39 proof nickel. My offer was about 15% off the asking price each time. Maybe I was lucky? yay.gif

Thanks for the reply guys. I'll most likely end up making them an offer, but what I KNOW the coin is worth is about half of what they have listed it for, which kind of suprised me, because the company is CNG. I have no idea why they have this coin marked up so high.
