one of the most beautiful coins I have ever seen and a FE to boot!

While that is a stunning coin, I do wonder why it got the * deisgnation since it has that rather distracting spot at 12:00. Other than that spot, it looks near perfect.

a fantastic coin

and proof copper nickel flyers and 1860 to 64 proof indians

do really well/are one of the best coins that work really well with ncs conservation especailly so if it is a great coin under light toning and ncs did a fantastic job with this coin as it looks like an ncs conserved coin to me

the coin came out great and looks like it was just struck yesterday!!!!

i woulds love to own this coin but cant afford it i would assume close to 6 figure price

i would say it was given the star as it is ultra on the obverse in person sight seen and strong cameo reverse

and of course it is exceptional eye appeal

but first and foremost it was given the star as it is a ultra cameo obverse and cameo reverse

Rick didn't show me this one but I did get to fondle the finest known 1873 doubled liberty!

This may be sort of sign-offtopic.gif but how does someone come up with a

PR grade for a proof like that! I can see a point deducted for the spot at 12:00 but what else is on that coin that would cause it to lose 3 more points to grade out at

MS66. Do they have a perfect example to compare to and make the deductions or is this perfect coin something of their imagination they use to come up with a grade? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

That is a darn nice looking coin, especially for an FE cent! blush.gif The spot beneath the ES of STATES looks as though it is a remnant from something that lightly ate into the surface metal.
