A new key date for my stash....

I ran across this one at Baltimore. Wayneherndon said a guy was walking the floor with 2 PCGS boxes full of the 96s and 13s wanting something like 42,000.00 for them. He had already sold the 01s' he had. This may very well be one of that "hoard". I liked that it had nice rims on it and even part of LIBERTY visible even though portions of the reverse are a touch weak.

You can't really be picky when going after some of those tough barbers so I think you did just fine....congrats on locating one 893applaud-thumb.gif

You know, it's actually attractive and obviously original. I think I know who ended up buying a considerable number of the quarters from that hoard as a particular dealer has listed on their site eleven 1896-S Barber quarters, four 1901-S Barber quarters and eleven 1913-S Barber quarters; all of which they bought in Baltimore.

I received their NEWP email and knew they had bought at least part of them!

I am waiting for them to get some pics up and I may pick up a 13s.

I think that's a very smart purchase. 1901-S gets all the attention, but the other two keys are VERY tough, and I think are poised to rise in value. I remember when nobody collected circulated Barber coins, but the series has been rediscovered in the past few years, especially the quarters.
