NGC holder ages.

I am sure it has been descussed before but is there a listing on the ages of the different NGC holders? I am interested in when NGC went form the stamped Logo to the gold foil, and when NGC started the bar code on the front of the holder. Also when did they switch from the light blue border to the grey border, etc.?

Howdy BankNote - conder101 of the PCGS boards sells a book on slabs that is quite good. The bar code that you mention started somewhere between 1992 an 95 according to his book. Looks like July of 2001 is when they moved from the stamped logo. Unfortunately, conder's book is not in color, so I can't tell you about the border.

Conder101 also posted pictures of the various NGC and PCGS slabs over on the PCGS board.

 

The NGC post is dated 9/10/03 and titled "Pictures of the NGC generation slabs LONG" and the PCGS post is dated 9/20/03 and titled "As promised, the PCGS generations with pictures. VERY LONG!"
