How to do this NGC submission

3 posts in this topic

I need to do an NGC submission of about 8-10 coins. One of them is a Standing Liberty quarter in a SEGS MS-62 holder to cross at any grade. However, I think the reverse has a weird film that I want curated off first. I think the coin is a high, high-end slider that might make UNC (non FH). Another coin is a 1900 Liberty nickel in an NGC MS-64 slab. The coin has obviously turned bad in the slab, and I'd like to get it grade-reviewed and if necessary, NCS-ed as well, if it can get back in a 64 holder. How would I go about doing this? The balance of coins are just $100 kinds coins. Can I mix-and-match this way?

Is there a different forum category I should ask this question in?

The SEGS coin should probably be sent to NCS (can be included in the same package of coins shipped to NGC).

The "bad" NGC coin should be sent to NGC for Appearance Review. It is free. If there is a problem with it they will fix it. They have done a few for me (a fingerprint started to appear on a high end coin, another had really hazy and impaired luster, etc) and I have had nice results. If they feel the coin is OK they will send it back as is.

The other coins need to be submitted on a separate invoice.

You can request that all three invoices be returned together to save on shipping.

Hi James, as usual, our forum ambassador(is that official 27_laughing.gif ) is correct on the tiers you need to send these in on. The SLQ should go to NCS, the Liberty nickel on a Appearance Review, and the remainder of coins on the tier you specify for regular grading, all of which should be on separate invoices, the main point I wanted to add in.
