I don't know why I'm so adamant about not buying problem coins. I couldn't bring myself to buy one that has been harshly cleaned, repaired, holed, etc. About the only cleaned coins I will buy are the ones cleaned with olive oil. I'm amazed when I see some of the more rare flowing hair and draped bust series of US coins that have been repaired or tooled, and they still bring big money.

Sometimes refusing to buy cleaned coins means never adding certain rare coins to your collection. Until 50 or 60 years ago, cleaning was the norm (even at museums). frown.gif
