Best way to catalog a collection for the computer phobic

My father wants to catalog his collection but will not use a computer. Is there an easy way for him to keep a manual log or record them on paper and have me enter them into the computer? Unfortunately we don't live close to each other.

Welcome to the coin forum!

First let me say, there's nothing like the use of a good ole US postage stamp!

But you might have to do the rest. Just have your dad make a list of coins by denomination, date and grade and have him send it to you.

I used to use 8-1/2 x 11" accounting ledger sheets years ago. It already has all the columns for date, MM, grade, cert #, cost, etc, etc. That way he can enter the data, xerox them and mail them or FAX them to you. Plus he can keep them in a notebook.

great ideas and make sure to add an extra few spaces or columns in case you want to do a little write up along with other information and make sure you make a copy of everything before you mail it
