The wear on the reverse of this 1799 dollar doesn't look right

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

it is but you rarely see coins this low grade but as heritage says most probably a pocket piece that is why it is so smooth clean and not nicked up

 

also see the reverse how weaker it is in the middle? well this is due to a weak strike so because the coin was weakly struck on the reverse and strongly struck on the obverse when the coin worn evenly as a pocket piece due to the weak strike on the reverse it shows more wear

 

also this is mostly likely die state 3 from the photo

 

a good looking coin and a good deal IF if you can get it for close to 100 dollars

well for me i think this coin will go for 350 to 450 dollars

if you can get this coin for around 100 dollars you got a steal

 

and i think ngc would slab it easy at the same grade just going by the scan
