Insuring coins

4 posts in this topic

Welcome to the forum.

The safest way to ship, by far, is by registered/insured mail through the US Post Office. Depending upon the value of the coins, other good options might be insured mail and/or Priority Mail and/or Express Mail through the US Post Office.

I would not recommend United parcel Service. And I would not recommend FedEx, unless you have private insurance which covers FedEx shipments.

Insuring through a third party might make more sense if you are doing a lot of shipping.

USPS registered and insured for full value is the way to go as Mark said. Insured for full value because the USPS seems to have a habit of sending the package to the wrong city. At least when it comes to NGC from my area.
