Certification number

Look on the NGC Registry front page under the "Coins" heading. There is a line that says: "Cert Number Lookup". Just Type in your number and it will verify the number and the grade.

I received an email from NGC saying that I was trying to add a proof coin to a mint state set. They didn't list which coin I was trying to list, just the NGC certification number. The number they say I was trying to list wasn't part of the group that I was listing. So, I'm confused. How can you check what the certification number applies to ?

 

It seems odd that you can check the POP reports but can't look up a Cert number with out being a paying member ?
