What do you think this coin will bring?

I've always wanted one since I was a kid. I might bid on this one. What do you think it would bring, and would NGC slab it?

I think NGC would slab it without any problem. For these coins (and the Chain) they will allow a lot of damage before bagging it. This coin looks so-so. I'd personally like a stronger Wreath. I'd guess it'll bring $1700.

Maybe I should hold out for a Fair Chain Cent.

I think it will bring around $1300 and I don't think NGC will slab it....just my gut instinct on this one. I wouldn't turn it down for my collection!!!!!

Provided you could find one with smooth surfaes, probably in the neighborhood of $23K.

 

It's the one coin I would stretch for if one came along and really grabbed me. As it is, even XF examples frequently lack the look.

I would have to limit my $ at around $1500.00 for one. On another note, I sure am impressed with Heritage's website. Last time I was there was over a year ago when I purchased some RoTx notes. They have really improved it.

Their photos still suck.

 

As for the cent, I also think that I'd hold out for one with a better planchet and less uneven wear on the reverse, even if the entire reverse had greater overall wear.
